The transformation of vehicles from machines to software-driven products is changing drastically our ideas of vehicles and future mobility. Software is increasingly used to improve the vehicles’ performance, safety, and environmental compatibility. The increasing complexity of these systems has also created a need for common standards for the development of automotive on-board software.
AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture) offers the key players of the automotive industry, from major OEMs to specialized tool providers, a platform for cooperation. Instead of competition, AUTOSAR aims for global cooperation and provides two software platform standards, Adaptive Platform and Classic Platform, to tackle the technical future challenges.
